Oops...

Don't try this at home. It'll cost ya a tow truck fee (to use their winch). If I had a nice/long chain or cable, I think i would have been able to pull it out easily. My tow strap just stretched, so I didn't push it.

The soil is very dry on the edge of the pond due to the summer drought...but the transition to gooey mud is a lot quicker than I thought. Once the front wheel dropped in, it was over. No amount of working with the loader or anything else could get me out. Took about 2 minutes to drag it out with the tow truck winch once it was connected.

Looking at the pictures, you'd think....how did you get so far in? That came from trying to push myself backwards with the loader. It only made it slide in further.

Situation sucks but atleast you got some cool pictures and a good story out of it. Did the 150 even budge it? With another person in the tractor with the tractor in reverse think it would have come out? these things suck when your alone

thats what i was thinking, if someone was rocking on the loader, while the f150 was tugging it might have pulled it on out

It had to get up a big ledge before it could get back on solid ground...so once it hit that ledge the strap just stretched. I was afraid of breaking it or messing up my truck. In 4 Lo, it didn't spin at all, I had plenty of traction.

ROPS....yes, I know. I only put it up when I'm on the hills a lot or doing loader work. I've experimented to see how it behaves on hills. It would rather slide sideways than tip - unless you have a load in the loader. Not that I do that all the time. I don't get anywhere neat inclines that would put me near tipping. Mostly all I'm doing is mowing anyway. When I start doing loader work and especially on hills, the ROPS goes up and seat belt on. Otherwise I try to leave it down so as to not tear the garage up when I put it away

Better to tear up your garage than your head! Sorry, but I get on everyone I see about that. My mother was a Farm Saftey Coordinator here in Ky. So I heard ALL of the horror stories on farms. KEEP EM UP!!! Tie a rope from the ROP to the hood so you see it. Besides, once you punch a hole in the garage you don't have to worry about it!

I can relate to your situation, I have a John Deere X-595 3 cylinder Yanmar Diesel 4X4 tractor I use to maintain 3 acres. When you have a heavy load in the loader bucket ya gotta be careful of the inclines! I've had it on three wheels recently & nearly ^&%$ my pants! (LOL).....This weekend I spread 14 Yards of loom with the loader attatchment & seeded grass, these tractors rock!...............:thumbsup,

No, not even close. It didn't start to really lean a lot until I tried to work it backwards with the bucket - then it shifted over a little...but it didn't continue to tilt. It came right out with the winch.
