Painting LT Handles

This might not be the right place for this.
But this is where I always look so here it goes
Does the handle (chrone Part) come off the bucket when you paint the handles or do they have to tape them off to paint ? Bought some and need to have them painted as they don't come in my color. Thanks for any help and by the way this sight cost me plenty

Care to share how this is done for the door handles? I have some PTM handles and want to take the handles off the buckets to make it easier to paint everything. I tried tapping the pivot pins out but they seem pretty solid. How is it done without damaging anything?

the doors are nothing, just knock the pin out, don't be afraid to use a little force here. the tailgate handle SUCKED! it took me a good hour three beers a hammer and drill to get it done.

I just took set of channel locks to pull the tailgate handle pin out. Seriously only took me about 5 minutes to do. I guess I got lucky.

The door handles, pull the pin, needs some force and pop the spring out of the back and it's out.

Dont tape off the pull handle. Take your time and pop out the pins that hold the pull handle in. MATT 05'FX4 has a good write up w/pics in his gallery that i used as a reference..Overall not a hard job, just take your time. I have some pics of my PTM handles in my gallery
