Of course, provided you pay them for the repairs.

TSBs are NOT warranty extensions (those are different programs), they are tech bulletins to assist dealer techs in diagnosing and resolving issues that need additional information beyond what was previously in the tech manual or for updated information.

If it's in the public domain, why shouldn't they be posted?
I realize you're a technician, but it shouldn't be your job to deal with the public who come in wanting to have their concerns looked at.

The customer paid a lot of money for that vehicle, and that gives them the right to be concerned if they perceive a problem with the vehicle.

I think he was referring to the embarrassment factor.

I deal with the public regularly, even though I'm behind the scenes making chicken salad out of chicken poop. For whatever reason, customers feel better when the goon who actually has his hands on the car explains what's going on - it's not part of my job description, but yes, I talk to and deal with pissed off ornery customers on a semi-daily basis. I got the gray hairs to prove it.

The public having access to technical service bulletins generally causes more problems than it fixes.

For instance, someone who doesn't know exactly what or how a TSB works sees this huge list of potential concerns/problems/fixes and thinks that it applies to all 2004+ F150s. They print this list off, maybe the whole thing, maybe a few specific ones, and bring it down to their local dealer wanting TSB such-and-such performed. We can't do that; if there's not a specific complaint or problem, there's absolutely nothing we can do.

We can't pre-emptively perform repairs under a TSB and/or under warranty, dealers get audited for that kinda stuff. But the vast majority of the public can't understand that, they see a big freaking list with a slew of potential concerns/problems/fixes, and they want it done, period. When we say we can't do that, now we're a bunch of lazy crooks that can't fix a sandwich, much less a vehicle.

Additionally, I can guarantee that just about every bulletin listed in the first post in this thread falls under some specific build date ranges and/or model variants. But you don't see that, nobody here can see that, all everyone sees is a big list of potential problems/fixes.

The public having access to TSBs really retards the inspection/testing/repair process more than anything. Seriously. It makes the dealership's job harder when the customer wants to argue and insist that TSB 01-01-01 that they got off the internet will address their concern, when it may not.

And part of the gripe I have is a personal one. Yes, there's a lot of hacks out there, but I'm quite good at what I do, and so are a lot of other techs out there. I/we invest a lot of time, effort, and money to stay on top of our game; I/we don't want or need the customer to tell us how to fix their vehicle.

I also handle customer service issues on a regular basis and I agree with damn near everything you said. However, there are few clients/customers who would look at, say a TSB list, and say "Ya' know, my vehicle has been doing that since it was new but I just figured nothings perfect, I'll live with it." Some time later, still under warranty, you discover that some of your symptoms that you experienced when it was "brand new" are known problems that the manufacturer has recognized and have issued a corrective measure action.

I'm not going to take it in for say a ash tray rattle, that I can easily fix myself, but say something like rust on a bumper, well then I would like to see what can be done about that! ..ya know what I mean?
