Pretty good propaganda but how much is enough? I've owned, used and driven many different trucks of most brands over the last 40 years. I severely overloaded many of them and I have never experienced a frame problem on any of them.

A common frame problem for many trucks build in the mid 80s (and some before) is rust (mainly farm trucks and other off road uses). I've seen it on Dodges, Fords, Toyotas and Nissans (we don't drive GM products often around here). A rear section of the frame will rust away and fail. It's amazing what cow manure, fertilizer and exhaust gasses will do to the underside of a truck after about 20 years of abuse and neglect.
