I'm not trying to nit pick but he's actually on 41" Iroks. I have to say it's without a doubt one of the coolest trucks on the site, if not the coolest.

yup

found the thread, https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...light=sas+swap turns out it is a dana 60 but some real nice goodies inside as well like 1410 u joints, yukon 35 spine chromolly shafts, ctm racing joints, detroit locker and warn hubs. If only i went off-roading enough to warrent a build like that. Then again my puny 4.6 would'nt grunt hard enough for those tires

Guess a dana 44 sas would be more logical in my case.... ....but i'll keep dreaming

I'd be crazy to say that is not a nice truck, because it is awesome, but why spend the money to do the swap when you could just start with a superduty. Everything is much stronger from the start than a half ton and will hold up much better. I know people could say I'm crazy (along with many others on here) for spending the money we do lifting our trucks, but I was going for looks along with a little extra capibility at the farm on weekends. If you want to build a bad a$$ offroader that is meant to be able to take abuse, start with a heavy duty truck that already has a solid axle. Just my thoughts. And to the guy with the white truck please don't take offense to this because I would love to have it, I'm just saying to whoever started this thread to start with something else.

I thought of this awhile back and ended up buying an '85 Bronco to play with. Since i realy don't plan on repairing the rust on it,i'm just building it up for play. So far i've just done basic maintence to it to keep it a D.D. and learn how to wrench on a truck.Only come to find out the bronco has the same 8.8 as the f-150 in the rear and the front is not a solid axle like i was planing on... I am planning on building it up to learn more and maybe salvage the parts i put money into and swap it out to the pickup. This is all in all a project bronco that will last a couple if not 5 or more years, by then it won't be so much of a crazy idea to swap out the axle's in the F150....I've been trying to keep the budget tight but with my A/C handler acting up in the condo i'm trying to rent, money is being pushed towards the need list...the wish list will have to wait:santa:

Hope this sheds more light on what i was thinking of.
