Adding the back up camera found on the 08s...?

Sooo has anybody looked into adding the camera and rear view mirror to their truck thats found on the 08's? If so what would it take.

The reason i really ask is that im looking to trade for a superduty and they dont offer this option yet.........Wish they would but just curious what it would take to do it.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. If you want the complete system, you will have to replace the rearview mirror because that is where the screen is. Hopefully it has a standard RCA connection and you could plug it into any screen, but I am not sure what type it has. If I didn't just put a camera in a few months ago I would do this for sure.

Are the tailgate handles on the sd and the 150 the same?

It'd probably be easier to go aftermarket.

I'm actually getting a backup camera installed on Thursday and will have it projected on my Alpine W205. Can't wait for it!

How about this for pricey

Rear view mirror w/ video caption.........$761.60

Tailgate handle (painted w/rev cam system)
(DOES NOT INCLUDE CAMERA)....$150.00

Rear camera assy..............................$342.50

The option on the sticker on the trucks with reverse camera is $450.

WOW.....

And trytokeepup.

Yes the SUPER DUTY has a rear camera option as well. Just look for them on dealer lots.

Oh i have already priced the new SD... and if i went to a dealership I would get myself in trouble cause I would trade... Im waiting like you to get the good deals on the rebate and cash back... I might wait for the new 09 SD to come out and get the 08 SD... should get a pretty decent deal then...

Thats what i was thinking...but id rather build mine since my next truck ill end up keeping a while with buying a house and all. (i said that with this truck tho ) So theres things i want that i cant find at the end of the year and things that are in the truck i dont really need. Soo building one is my best bet. Then i cant complain that i wish i had this instead of that....

Why isnt fords website current on the options you can get for the superduty then?? It doesnt show anything about the camera.
