Chrome or painted front bumper replacement
Chrome or painted front bumper replacement
04 Lariat Screw, white with the 2 tone Arizona Beige lower body color. Pretty common color combo with the white Lariat. I need a new lower front bumper. Mine is painted Arizona Beige. 4 questions
1. Could you get this color combo with the chrome bumpers from the factory?
2. Which would be cheaper, buy a new primed bumper take it to a body shop and have them spray the Arizona Beige or just buy a new chrome bumper and live with the different look? Probably have to change the rear to match, as well.
3. Where is a good source for quality chrome bumpers?
4. Could I get one already painted Arizona Beige from a dealer or after market source?

What is a PTM bumper? Around here in the junkyards, they're aren't any 04 and up truck. Hardly any of the last style either. Would a bodyshop paint a bumper only? How much would I expect to pay? Thanks

I had this situation a while back (long story). I decided to call around to all the truck accesories places in town. I asked if they had put any aftermarket bumpers on any 2004+ Ford F-150's. Well I found a place that had a bumper off a XL and i got it for $100 from them. I probaly could have gotten it cheaper or even free, but I was grateful at that point. I then took it and had it painted to match the DSG bumpers on my FX4.
One word or advice. If it is the front bumper, pay the extra money to have someone paint it with OEM style paint and paint code. If you go the Maaco route, they are cheaper, but the paint will chip off much easier from bugs, rocks, etc. Don't ask me how I know...
