Tinted my 3rd brake light... (w/ pics)

Tinted my 3rd brake light yesterday using VHT Niteshades and a coat of clear.

I'm seriously considering putting a coat or two on the HD tail lights to make them a little darker.... thoughts?

Im going to do it soon to my third brake light, but i was also worried if the HD tails i have would not look as dark.

Copperhead64: Your fears are justified, the HD tails don't look as dark anymore. It's not that they look light, but it just looks like they could go a shade darker still.

I'm going out of town this weekend, but maybe next weekend I'll take a shot at the tails.

Has anyone used the Nightshades on the headlights. Instead of taking them apart and painting the insides?

Thats not a good idea. The headlights would give off too much heat and the niteshades would fade.

Did you consider doing the Recon LED 3rd Brake Light? It looks good though.

I looked at Recon and Bully, but I figured I'd give the Niteshades a shot, $10 vs. $60 or $100. If I didn't like how it turned out I would have picked up an already smoked aftermarket one.

I have the recon smoked one and still put a couple coats of niteshades on it. Looks good on black trucks.
