So...Other options besides bags?

As some of you know I build skateramps for my day job and I haul a LOT of wood. I am looking for some other options to handle rearend sag besides airbags. Whats the cheapest? Here are some pics of my truck with 24 sheets of 3/4 inch ply and I think it was 12 sheets of 1/2 inch ply. It sags a ton...sorry for the fuzzy pics I took them with my new iPhone, sorry I had to throw that in there...

I was just kind of wondering but why not go the route of an airbag assist kit? Is there any specific reason or you just don't like them?

does it sag without anything in it? if it does, get the leafs re arched, if they sag again, and they will, then get aftermarket or oem leaf packs to start the cycle again, cause if you dont want airbags, which is perfect for you situation thats what you gotta do.. honestly guy, if you have to consistently carry that much weight, either build or buy a trailer, a decent one with proper load capacity, it will be cheaper in the long run, easier to load, and pretty useful all around

Airbags are going to be your best option.

How much weight was that by the way?

Since you want CHEAP options (compared to airbags), you may want to check out Timbrens. They go in place of your OEM bump stops. I think they're just over $100 for the rear set.

--Ok, here's the website.

I agree Thump, airbags would be the best option by far. I put them in my truck this summer, and love them. With 70 psi in the bags and 3200lbs in the bed of the truck it sits perfectly level, with 90 psi and the same load I had about 3/4 of rake back into the truck. I normally run with 20 psi in the bags which gives me about 1" of rake when unloaded, if I put about 1000lbs in the bed at 20psi the truck sits 1/2" low in the rear.

As for weight in his truck, I guessing right about 2000lbs.

Basically all that they are is a large, glorified bump stop. I know of a few guys that are running timbrens on the front of thier trucks for running snow plows. The most common problem that I have heard of is that when you hit either a speed bump, pot hole, railroad track, ect and the suspension unloads then reloads it makes one HE!! of a bang and you can feel it through the whole truck. Since all the weight just slammed back down onto the axle.

Yea...I have been thinking and bags would be probably the best option...how much do typical bag kits go for? Would they work on a lift with a block? As far as the trailer option...I have one to use for my quads but I have to get into tight areas when building ramps and a trailer wouldnt be an option for those tight areas.

So again I ask if an airbag system would work for trucks with lift blocks in the rear? And how much for everything?

it'll work, but you might have to fab up a block for under the bags.

theres a member on here with a rancho lift and he has rear air bags, with a fab'd block under the bags. i forget who it is.

I would like to see that kit, and ask how much work it took to put it in.

add a leaf will be cheap but it raises your rear and unoaded is stiff as hell. airbag assist is best

I got my bag kit locally for about $300 from these guys: www.streetbeatcustoms.com

They have a store here but that is their website, they have kits for trucks with stock ride heights also but I'm not sure about lifted trucks.
