Washing Motor

I want to wash the motor on 05 F150 w/the 5.4 motor. I am worried I will get water in the plugs. I had a 97 w/ the 5.4 motor and I washed it and had to replace the plugs. Do I have anything to worry about if I wash my new truck's motor? Not like I am going to use a Power washer just a garden hose.

if the engine is hot and you dont have time for it to cool down just leave it running.

I've been using Simple Green and a pressure washer on multiple vehicles for multiple years now. Just use common sense and don't get too close to electrical parts with the spray. I apply the Simple Green, let it sit for a minute or two, and spray it off. It makes the engine bay look like new. I even use this method on the mustang, which has nothing stock on the top end.

Like suzuki mentioned, letting it run while you do this isn't such a bad idea either.

i used black magic, made it look new but not shiny and didnt require high volume of water to wash off, it says to use on warm engine, i dont think its that great to spray down a hot engine, maybe its an urban legend but ive heard engine blocks can crack
