Anyone heard of a Transmission lock-up switch?

Alot of my friends have diesel trucks (dodge and ford) and one of the first simple mods they do to get HP is to install a Tranny lock-up switch

Its a simple mod, simply flip the switch and what it will do is take out all of the slack in the tranny and make it more of a direct drive (like a manual). You gain alot of HP when cruising on the highway with the switch engaged.

A buddy said its probably possible to install in a F150 but im skeptical. Anyone hav imput?

You already have a lock-up torque converter. Controlled by the PCM.

If it's working properly it locks up @ cruise / low load conditions.

And no - you don't magically get more hp... in fact if you try to lock it up too early, you lose torque multiplication. These gassers ain't diesels - you need all the TQ you can get

Please use Search.
