blackedout tails?

i really like the look of blacked out tails and was wanting to know how some of you guys do it? i heard something about nightshades but it is not really glossy. they also have the film that my buddy bought off ebay for his new z71. Just wanted to know of anything else. can you add clear over the nightshades? if so where can i purchase nightshades.

Just mix a little black base with some clear and spray until the desired shading is reached, and your done. That's what I did anyway.

Check out jonstintedtails.com, he did mine and I am very pleased. Photos on the site of the different shades you can go. He used pics of my truck also since I was the first current body style F150 he did.

Nightshades works well, and you can clear over them. I did. https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=292656

That looks great. Was wondering what they would look like on a black truck and now I know. May have to add that to the list of future mods. If you don't mind me asking, how much was your total?

I'm thinkin of tintin my LED tails, heres a picture of stock tails with $10 night shade.

My dad sprayed the night shades and a friend at a auto body shop cleared em. I think they look awesome except I went alitte dark.
I know my local body shop in FL will mix black paint with a clear and just do a light spray till its just a hint of red, mostly clear shining black and it doesnt dim the light nowhere near as close as the tint n/or night shade, I've seen prices from 40-60 for a auto body shop to paint them proper. Unless you know someone you can get it done for close to nothing

you can find sellers on ebay that have tinted lights or will custom tint a set for you. I used to have some but they were pretty dark and really cut back on the light output, especially the reverse lights. I sold them and bought the Harley lights instead.
