Discount Tire's certificate for replacement

About ready to purchase two sets of tires from Discount Tire for my 05 XLT. These are the New Wrangler silent armors. They have this certificate program for free replacements. The charge is $123 for replacement tires for the life of the tires. My question is it worth it? I mean I've had several flats in my time (rock puncture, nails etc..) , and everyone of them was fixable for a nominal cost and gauranteed for the life of the tire. I realize there is always the chance that a tire blows out and is not fixable but...... Just something else they try to sell ya that you'll probably never use??? Opinions anyone?

hey man.. i work there.. and honesrlty.. its the best thing you can do.. i had them on my truck, unfortunately never needed them, but a week after i got new wheels/tires on my stang.. i got a nail in the right rear.. and didnt know, and it went a little low, well i drove on it.. and developed a heat ring, so we couldnt fix it.. so i got a NEW tire (remember that one only had like 500 miles on it if that) and pad only for the re-certifcation.. (30 bucks) other wise, i could have not renewed the certs, and just got it for free..

I RECOMEND IT TO EVERYONE, INCLUDING MY FAMILY/FREINDS..not just customers.. and specially if you are on job sites/offroading/etc.

hope this helps.. (im in sanford, fla)

I usually buy that warranty from Discount Tire. I remeber paying less for the warranty, but if so not by much. Now that I look back 4 pairs of tires later and 9 years of driving and I have yet to get one replaced under warranty. Had about 6-8 nails since then, but they were all plugged. Probably better to put that money in a jar to save towards your next set of tires

I also saw that they have certificates for $30 and an extended price for $123. Are the $30 certificates for a one time exchange or how does that work?

That's kind of the way I was thinking. Chances are you'll never need it. But just my luck I will with this new set These tires are $192 a piece so If I didn't purchase the warranty and had to purchase a new tire because of a non-fixable flat one time in the life of the tread, your looking at paying roughly $69 more (192-123) for the new tire than if you had the certificate?? Ida no....

ur deicsion, but i would do it.. i almost didnt, and that happen a week after i got em.. and then i was really glad i did.. bc i saved almost 200.. it was no sweat puttin a new tire on for free, and payin 30 buck to renew the cert.

but if i would have had to drop 230 or whatever it was.. i would have been like.. *****TTTTTTTTT
