Loud New Mod on its Way *PICS and VIDEO*

After the past couple weeks I've been having with traffic and stupied driver's I finally opted to get myself a train horn. It was supposed to be here today, but UPS dropped the ball. I'm going to install a switch to control the horn button. I flip it one way I get the factory horn, the other I get the factory. While I was adding this switch I decided to add a few others for the future. I'm having a guy that make me a custom plate that goes in place of my ash tray and have 5 rocker switches in it. Hopefully I'll get it tomorrow.

Anyway if you guys have any tips for the install I'd appreciate it.

I am going to do this mod in a week or two myself... I've compelled myself to buy one because there have been a string of stupid drivers out lately. Maybe a train rushing by them the next time they cut me off will scare them... so next time they will think twice.

I'm almost 100% sure it's the exact same one RAMSS/T had on his old truck

I tried making it myself, but it kept cracking and not fitting the way I wanted. Get this I call him at work, he comes by on his way home checks it out, and says he might be able to get it to me tomorrow. He's going to use my "prototype piece" as his template. Talk about service.

Train horns are a must here in FL! I must use mine at least 5 times a day bc of old people. One guy started cussing me out so at the next red light I got out of my truck and he ran the red light-LOL (non busy intersection)

Yea train horns have helped in more than one occasion with my lifted truck. People not paying attention trying to merge in lanes on the highway, and people pulling out on back roads. Just a double tap before you get close to them and they instantly stop and wonder if they are about to get taken out by a train.

I must say though that some people don't take it to lightly and attempt to follow me and also return gestures. I just find it funny, and give them another tap and keep trucking.

Rsbeachbum, if you don't mind, could you explain how your going to wire it so that you can have the factory horn and then the train horn at the flip of a switch, and they both be controlled by the steering wheel? Like a little diagram in paint or something. Right now I have the hot for the solenoid that controls the air spliced into the wiring going to the factory horn, and then just unplugged the factory horn. It works, but I would not mind having both in case I get pulled over or its late at night.

I've stained my draws on more than one occasion in the past when I've been blasted with train horns in vehicles; they simply scare the crap out of me.... that's why I'm investing in one soon.

Payback's a bitch!

Here are some pics. I didn't realize how big these horns were. I think I found a spot for them on the right side frame rail.
