Low Fuel Warning light coming on sooner now

When I first got the truck, it would come on when I had driven about 370 miles or so, on an estimated 420 - 430 per tank and would take 26 - 27 gallons to fill up ..

Now it comes on after 325 - 330 miles, when I still have an estimated 420 - 430 per tank .. and it only takes 23.5 or so to fill up ..

I am getting better milage now than I was last year .

The fuel gauge still shows the same level as it did last year, but the trip computer shows different mileage driven.

so it appears to be coming on 3 - 4 gallons sooner.. any idea on why it has changed?

When my low fuel comes on and I go fill it up, i've seen anywhere from 3 gallons to .5 gallons left in my 23 gallon tank. This is right as the light comes on mind you. I pretty much don't expect to get over 350 miles per tank, but that depends on the driving. Rule of thumb, 1/8 of a tank left I fill it up. Once Ford comes up with Digital fuel quantity (electrodes measuring the resistance of the fluid - less resistance = less fuel) it will never be dead accurate.

I fill it up asap, when it comes on, just so I can see the other info, like temp odometer etc.. It's stupid the way comes on and blocks all of the other info on the display.

I don't think a 23G tank is even an option. 27 is the smallest(I Think) and my LF comes on at around 330-370. Depends how im driving. I have a 27G
