cheap door handles on ebay - my story

You may have seen these before, cheap replacement PTM handles on ebay:

For under $20 a piece I figured why not. Shipping was expensive. When they arrived I opened the box and found each one had something wrong with it. One was scratched, the other two had bad rubber seals. It took a couple e-mails and one phone call but today I got a FULL refund, including shipping, and I get to keep the handles. Not too bad, so many shoddy companies around it was nice to have one do something nice. Just wanted to share.

They've got their own eBay store, here's the ford handles they sell:

Who knows, maybe I just got a bum load of parts. I agree with you, you do get what you pay for, just wanted to share my good experience with their customer service, but at the same time debunk their claim of "Brand New in the Box - Fit and Quality Guaranteed! Meets or exceeds OEM specifications."

I was looking to buy full replacement handles to do them PTM, I'm rocking the Putco covers right now but think PTM would look better. I'm planning on buying some of the OEM 07 PTM handles after this little ebay adventure.

I have a set of four factory door handles and the factory tailgate handle that I'm looking to get rid of. When I got my new truck last week, I had the dealer swap out the factory handles with the Lincoln Mark LT handles before I even drove the truck off the lot. The factory handles are wrapped in plastic and boxed up... they have literally never been used.

I ordered a watch from Fossil and it came with a scratched face. They sent me a new one and said to keep the scratched one. Some companys customer service rocks.

Screw-Me -

It was Sawgrass Ford, but they did not do this for free! I had pre-ordered the set of five Lincoln door handles about a week before my truck was set to come in, that way the handles were there waiting at the parts department and they did the swap the same day my new truck came in. The set of five Lincoln handles cost me $450, plus another $350 for labor. I know it's pricey, but I did not want to drive the truck off the lot with those black handles.

RobNY -

Your handles look great!
