Exclamation have a problem on my dads fx4..

he has a 04 Fx4 2door, it turns on fine, the only thing is that it turns off while its on at least once a day, sometimes it shakes too, it has 41,000 miles. i cleaned the throttle body like some members did and it didnt help, the throttle body wasnt even as dirty as my truck's tb. my dad has a cheap gas filter on the truck could that be the problem? or does anyone has something of the same problem happening?

There may be a stored code?? If it were shutting down for a fuel problem there will be a code.

When does it stall? Does it die at idle or while he's driving? I had this happen once and I had to take it to my dealer to get the PCM re-flashed and that cured it. Outside of that I would check the throttle position sensor there could even be an issue with the throttle motor. The best place to start is to check for codes, get the re-flash done and hopefully that's all it takes.

it dies at idle only. i had it reflashed a while back for the tps code, and the check engine light only turns on every once and a while. im gonna replace the fuel filter, if i need to change the tps will that solve the problem? ive also noticed the ever since i cleaned the throttle body on my dads truck its been happening more.. could it be the tps?

Possibly, cleaning the TB would improve airflow which would cause it to starve for fuel if the filter is clogged up. How long has the fuel filter been in there? If it's been awhile it's probably reducing flow and that would cause the problem as well.
