Good Deal on new 07? Need some opinions

Well I know I've posted about 2-3 threads already about getting ready to purchase an 07 FX2. Well finally got my 02 Explorer sold, so I have money for the down payment. So this is the deal that Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park has come out for me. I am going to put 9K down. The FX2 MSRP is 37,200. I got them down to a little under invoice and after my down payment I am looking at monthly payments of 415 a month for 6 years at 1.9% interest. What do you guys think? If all goes well and I sleep on it I will most likely go tues. or wednesday and sign all the paperwork.

37,200? My MSRP was 33,400. And I got it for 24,500. Just got to know how to talk, use the rebates, and find financing ELSEWHERE (with good credit of course).

I got 9,800 off MSRP on my FX4 with about the same MSRP. My payment are 399 a month thru my credit union. They killed FORD on the interest rate. The trucks are a good deal right now, should be able to get one for like 10,000 or more off. Good Luck!

Just convince the dealer that you'll bring them more customers if they cut you a good deal. And don't be afraid to walk away from the dealer, just leave them your number, tell them when they can actually make you a good deal to call you. It might take a day, but you'll get a phone call with a lower price. Good luck!

3.73's
Power Moon Roof
rear power sliding rear window
painted running boards

Try this. www.carsdirect.com Some people are able to negotiate a better price than what they can provide, but it will atleast get you in the ballpark. Enter your zip code and get all your options listed and it has a target price they can get the dealer to give you with no haggling on your part. You enter what you want, they find it and get the price negotiated for you all for free. Give it a shot, I think 37 is too high, thats over 10k more than i paid for mine and I also got the 2.9% APR>

Sorry to rain on the parade, but 37K is way to high. I rolled out with my King Ranch at almost 10K off sticker plus 0% through Ford. Maybe I could have gotten more, but I felt I got a good deal.

Maybe if you could post the actual numbers it would make more sense. What is MSRP? What are they offering you before your down payment?

Any way you go, good luck and let us know how you make out.

The way I read his post is the MSRP is 37K and he negotiated the actual selling price just below invoice.

As a former car salesman, I used to hate when people came in and we negotiated like $9000 off sticker and I knew I was gonna get $50 commission and they would say things like "Come on, I know you can go a little lower." Towards the end there, I had gotten into the habit of saying "No, I cant. Either buy it or don't but make up your mind quick." That business really ate me alive! That's why I am not doing it anymore.

I am not all that familiar with the FX2 model and the MSRP. With that said, how many "options/extras" did the dealer add? I still think it's too high - we need a break down on the numbers.

sorry for not being as detailed, i posted the sticker to my first post showing the original MSRP plus all the add-ons. dealer did not want to go into "Specifics" as they called it and did not want to tell me how much off sticker i was getting, so i walked and went home and ran the numbers and came out with a price that is a lil below invoice. I just priced the car on carsdirect.com like scott1981 suggested and the price it gives me there with all the options is around 29,500-30K + TT&L.

Red Flag number one == Dealer did not want to go into specifics and tell you something as insignificant as WHAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY PAYING!

With the numbers you provided in your first post

I am going to put 9K down. The FX2 MSRP is 37,200. I got them down to a little under invoice and after my down payment I am looking at monthly payments of 415 a month for 6 years at 1.9% interest.

If these figures are correct, you are paying almost exactly 37.2K for the truck out the door (including taxes, fees, etc.) I would say that you can and should do a hell of a lot better than that. A lot of talk is made about 8-10K off sticker being possible on these trucks. Right now you are getting maybe 2-3K off, depending on where you live and taxes, etc.

I would run away from this one. You can find a much better deal.
