after looking at your truck....two words...morning wood...
question about your tips....do your rear tires/wheels get dirty with the tips in front of them....I've been thinking of doing my tips like yours...just haven't done it in fear it'll make the wheels dirty...I'am a little **** when it comes to my wheels....

that was me... :o i did the taping on the whole truck, but when i got to the area behind the license plate on the roll pan, i got lazy and figured since youre not gonna see it... i have too much ADD to be a perfectionist

ya know, ive never really look at it to see if its getting dirtier than the other side... it hasnt "jumped" out at me being noticably dirtier, so im guessing it dosnt make much of a difference if any at all... my tips sit where they are because i came out of my flowmaster si/do(which is in the stock position) with 45 degree angles and thats as far forward as you can get them. if you buy the lightning tips, i believe they come out at a 90 degree angle and you can put them further up if you want. or just move the muffler further forward...

actually, its kind of embarassing, but i never finished hard wiring the outlets:o i was going to have it so i could turn on the invertor with a switch on the dash and power would be ready at the outlets, but all the wring and relays and such kinda turned me off... itll get finished on a boring weekend one of these days...
I have one of those common vector inverters (Red ones sold everywhere)and I can tell you how to wire it without a relay. You dont even need a high power switch. Email me using my ID at bellsouth.net if you are interested. Mine is wired up like that with a switch where you have your outlet and the inverter behind the seat. I really like it set up that way.

Smokin, you're a good guy with a great truck. Keep it up, you have so much sweat & presidents dumped into that beauty.

i picked up like a 2' x 2' sheet of this steel grate stuff in the Lowes welding area. it had the honeycomb looking pattern so i thought it would match pretty well, but when i got home i noticed the patter was larger. i figured it would still look ok so i went with it.

anyway, i took some 1/8" or steel rod and bent it into a frame that fit the hood scoop opening. i then cut the grate stuff to fit and tack welded them together which was tough because the metal was so thin and im def not the best welder. i ground down all the edges smooth and spray painted it gloss black. its only held with 3m double sided tape so i can change it later if i want too. its not the best but it covers up the opening i cut in the scoop...
