Best Alarm?

Got an 06 fx4 and I dont want my car getting jacked or any audio stuff stolen. So I need to get an alarm system. I would like to get one that pages me when the alarm goes off and is a remote starter. I hear lots about the CA670. does this have all the things I need. Is is the best? Do I need to buy anything else with this or just the prewired 670 from kcautosound? tia

Ok, alot of people on here are very satisfied with with their CA670 units from Travis @ kcautosound. It is the only system out there that allows you to continue to use your door keypad, if equipped. Many people on here also have the viper and compustar systems and are very happy with those as well. BTW, there is a new Code Alarm system that will have the 1 mile range hopefully sometime soon.

I have a Compustar alarm with remote start on my truck and am indeed very happy with it. It has a 2 way paging system with dual shock, meaning the first time my truck is disturbed I get a beep on my LCD screen letting me know what part of my truck is being messed with. The second time the alarm actually goes off and I can adjust the setting of the sensor to anything from a light tap to someone actually has to break a window to set off an alarm. It also came with remote paging system as well where if the wife and I are out shopping and she goes to her favortie stores (and doesn't have her set of keys) and I go off to mine she can return to the truck, tap on a certain spot on the windshield and it alerts me that someone is waiting for me at my truck. It also set up for GPS tracking if I pay for that service.

I have the top of the line Clifford at the time (2005) It has remote start, LCD screen remote, alarm paging..Its very important that when you have your alarm installed that they install the options ( glass brake sensor mic, dual shock sensors etc..) This alarm rocks, I always have people kicking my tires, I guess cuz there big??? and the alarm will go off. Also if you were just to softly tap your keys on the glass or body it will go off. It takes a little time to dial in the sensitivity but its a must..

Here is Cliffords latest

I love my Clifford, I think Tuff4rd and I have the same alarm. I've got my sensitivity turned down a little compared to him though.

I have been trying to source an Avantguard 5.1 G5, on the net, with no luck. I can find all of the accessories though. I like the idea of using the Cliffnet wizard to do programming instead of counting blinking lights.

I want to install it myself, because I'm a 'Solder & Shrinktube' freak, and I never once liked the wire job done by "Pros" on my old trucks.

You guys with alarms...

If you have power windows, can they be hooked up so they roll up when activated? No problems?

Has anyone installed a bigger speaker for there alarms? I've been wanting to install one about the size of the ones you see on houses. Anyone know where I could get one with the alarm sound pre-set?
