Edge Q's

My edge on Level 3 get a bad tranmission clunk, ill let off then get back on ans it will clunk, also if I go from regular driving to punching it to pass someone it will down shift with a bad clunk. If I drive in level 2 all my tranmission clunk issues go away but then my intake drone is about 10 times worse and I loose a little over 1 mpg ( long time records prove this). My question is how can I get the power and fule milage of level 3 but the trans shift points and shift pattern of level 2?

The torque converter can do some funny things on Level 3. That is possibly what you are feeling. What are your settings?

I would change the settings and see if it has any affect. I would go with:

Shift pressure: 1-2=+12 2-3=+12 3-4=+9
WOT shifts: 1-2= 5250 2-3= 5250 3-4= 4800
if running 93 octane, bump timing +1
Max speed: 110
Max rpm: 5650
WOT fuel: +1.5

leave normal shift alone
Set idle rpms to 800
I would try something like that and see what happens.

I have been running those settings for over a year splitting time about equally for level 2 and level 3. About 22,000 miles with no trouble.

A guy I work with has had his at +16 for over a year. I like the firmness of +12 and not as harsh. It will not hurt it, but try something lower, say +6 or +9 just to see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't go back to the defaults setting.
