2004 f150 radio problems

Hey i have a 04 f150 and was at the local audio shop and looked at an ipod adapter, they told me it would not work an a 2004 f150, the kit they had worked on 97-2003 and 2005+, would that not work on a 04 fx4 single disc.

For the PIE adapter to work, you need to have the "AUX" button on your head unit. If you have the DVD entertainment system, the "AUX" input is already being used.

Most of the time I recommend upgrading to a newer factory head unit with an MP3 input. The cheap way out is an FM transmitter. The 8-freq Coby CA-739 works very well even if there is a radio station on the same channel you're using.
