The cluster would have to be from an '07 I think. stick shift shouldn't matter.

Ok... I might do that down the road...

Now does it show the the temperature, compass directions? Or do I need to buy the temperature probe, etc?

Don't have my switch installed yet but yes does have temp, compass, and yes you'll have to those seperate.

OK...a little crude but here is what I know:
Pins 1 & 4 from the message center switch you will splice into existing wires from the 32 pin cluster connector.
* Pin 1 will splice into light brown/red stripe wire from pin 1 on your 32 pin cluster connector. (Instrument illumination)
* Pin 4 will splice into black wire from pin 17 on your 32 pin cluster connector. (Grounds)

You need to remove the spare pins (5 & 6) from the message center switch pigtail and snap them into pins 1 & 10 on your 18 pin cluster connector. There are no pins in these locations from the factory.
* Pin 2 will go to pin 1 on your 18 pin cluster connector. (Message center switch signal return)
* Pin 3 will go to pin 10 on your 18 pin cluster connector. (Message center switch signal)

It is actually simple to do if you just follow the diagram I drew. Hope this helps!

***** Be careful that you tie into the correct wires/pins. The pictures of the connectors on the drawing is if you are looking at the face of the connectors. Anyone that does this mod, I am not responsible if you blow fuses or components!! *****

I beleive the only reason you would need the temp probe is if you are adding the automatic digital temperature controls. It will still show outside temp. The probe is just to control you inside temperature.

Originally I was told that 2004 & 2005 trucks needed a 2004 or 2005 cluster and that 2006 and up would need 2006 and up cluster. Recently saw a post about a guy that used a 2004 cluster on a 2007 truck!! I sold my 2004 cluster because I thought it wouldn't work on my 2006, but now I'm not so sure.....
By the way mitch150, how much were you charged for the program and where did you have it done??

Hey tmd thanks for the diagram. that will help big time. The guy at the dealership I went to charged me 50 bucks but I didn't have the mileage reprogrammed(I don't plan on ever getting rid of the truck). Man, sorry to hear the cluster you sold me would have actually worked in your truck, I feel kinda bad now. Not to rub it in, but the cluster looks real good in my truck. I am extremely happy with it. I am still keeping my eye out for an '06 cluster and the only thing I saw was on ebay:06 lariat cluster for $250.00 + shipping. I have seen them on ebay for $150.00 before, so I would hold out a while as I'm sure something like that come back up again on ebay. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I had the cluster programmed at a Ford dealership 1/2 hour from my home(got lucky and found out about him from another forum site). Did ask him about doing other clusters in the future, but said he was doing someone a favor by doing mine and didn't really want to get into doing any more though I don't know why, didn't seem to be all that hard to do.
