Cheap Mods?

Forgive me but it has been a little over a month since my last mod and now the bug's biting me again, but money has been tight lately. What are some cheap mods you've done or have heard of?

Here's one I did when I was bored one day (free too!) Heated up and removed my 4x4 stickers on the bed. Looks cleaner to me...

I know this is stupid, but I HATE plastic valve caps...

Get a set of good Chrome valve caps... It is a very minor thing, but especially with Chrome, or polished wheels, it makes the valve stem stand out a WHOLE LOT LESS...

Bugflector was under $40.00

Check to see if there is a Radio Shack near you... Micro CB and a mag mount antenna should run you around $50.00 if you shop it right...

I dont know what you consider cheap but the tail gate EZ Down is on my list next. ($50-$65) depending on where you get it.

The EZ Down is nice especially if kids like to open your tailgate......Another fairly cheap mod is AVS ventvisors

I've never had a problem with a chrome valve cap on any vehicle. I've had them on plenty of vehicles too.

Also he has the 5.4L motor so that wouldn't quite work.

I've been running various styled or plain chromed valve caps for decades, never had a single problem. You shouldn't have to tighten them with a wrench. I had a theft problem with them once. Caugth the kids doing it, and dragged them back to mommy & daddy by the earlobe.... Put a stop to it right then and there...Not that it was a huge deal, jsut that the kids needed to be taught that theft if NOT cool...

Yeah, pulling the baffles does not apply to the 5.4L.

You can swap your stock filter element for a K&N as well. Not as big of an improvement as a CAI, but an improvement.

The bugflector, ventvisors are good ideas too. Another one is DIY window tint. These windows aren't very dark stock...

A mod that will only cost you about $0.40 or even less if you have the materials is the fog light/high beam mod, where your high beam headlights and fog lights will be on at the same time.

For about $25 you could buy some VHT niteshades and clear coat and tint your third brake light.

You could upgrade you headlights or fogs to silverstars for about $40/pair.

Thats about all the stuff that I can think of for under $50.

Change out the map and interior lights to LEDS or get some Catch-All Floor Mats front and rear.

Just got back from Pep Boys and got the EZ Down from DEE ZEE for $38.00. There internet site says $65 and the sticker on the package says $49.99 but it rang up for $38 + tax. So its even cheaper then e-bay.
