Can someone just verify something for me so I can decide to do this mod or not. I have gotten numerous replies with different answers. I have an '06 XLT 4x4 s-crew. Trying to do the lariat cluster swap. I purchased one from an '04 off ebay, also got the message center switch and pigtail kit. I checked before I purchased it and was told any year cluster will work. Now I contacted a member who programs them and they state that I need an '06 or newer cluster and he can't even say for sure if it will work in my xlt?? I see everyone elses seemed to work fine but don't know if their clusters were the same year or not. I have pretty much given up and will probably sell everything unless someone can verify that this setup will work. Thanks for any help....

 

Should work.

Take it to the dealer and have them upload your "as built" data to it.

 

Hey baja150..thanks for the reply. I also sent a couple emails your way earlier to see if you had any input. I contacted the place I got it from and they state they will check to see if they have an 06 or newer one to swap with. They seem to be willing to help me out. My concern is I don't want to waste like $100 to have it programmed with as-built & mileage and then have it not work. I'll let you know how I make out. Thanks again... by the way here is the setup I have awaiting install (if it works out) otherwise this will be the same picture I post on ebay!!

 

Anybody else get a 04-05 lariat cluster to work in a 06 or newer truck?? Really hate to sell it if it will work, and I don't want to pay to "try" to program it only to waste time/money and have to sell it anyway.
