Weight

While at the stone yard yesterday, I parked my truck on the scales out of curiosity.

1/2 tank.. everything on the truck... spare and all.. and about 80lbs of tools in the bed.

5081 LBS. Without me in it.

So when I go to the track.. tailgate comes off, spare and jack come out, and I go in. Over 5100 LBS.

2004 Regular Cab 2wd.

eww that sucks i knew these trucks were heavy, but i thought the reg cab 2wd's would come in less than 5000 lbs. like 4600-4800 or so...

Damn, I though a 2wd would wiegh a lot less than that.

My reg. cab FX4 in 'everyday' mode (spare tire, a few tools, heavy **** stereo, only 1/8 of gas though) without me wieghed right around 5200 lbs.

Of course, add me and a full tank of gas and thats closer to 5500.

These things are f'n pigs.

My '07 comes in at 5320 lbs on Certified State scales... that is with just me in the truck and I only weigh 125 lbs.

My 04 FX4 Scab with me in in and 1/2 tank of fuel always weighs 6060 when I get weighed out at the dump, and I don't carry anyting in it. Weird.

My 2007 FX4 SCrew consistently weighs in at 5940 pounds at the local dump when empty. Man, That's one heavy truck!

That's crazy... and we all wonder why it takes us 30 seconds to go 0-60 mph... LOL

I'm really surprised that my truck is a v6 sometimes in a vehicle that weighs a lot.
