Well your ProComp kit came with a 3" block that you stacked on top of your factory 2" block so you do have a total of 5" of lift block. The Fabtech 5" lift block shouldn't be stacked with any other block... that's just too much block... 5" is big enough as it is. Plus the u-bolts that come with the 5" lift block aren't long enough to use it in conjunction with any other blocks.

I recommend you get rid of your 2" factory block and 3" ProComp block and replace them with the 5" Fabtech block and then add a 2" add-a-leaf.

You didn't mention if your truck was 4X2 or 4X4. I just looked at your gallery and can tell by the curve in your ProComp drop bracket that it's a 4X2. Sorry, I just assume all lifted trucks are 4X4.

Anyways, you don't have a factory 2" lift block so you must only be running the billet aluminum ProComp block in the rear. Yes you can replace that block with a 5" Fabtech block & u-bolts.

You are gong to be extending the shocks an additional 2" so you want to make sure the shocks aren't limiting the suspension droop after you install the 5" block.

I agree, but from what I've heard, the procomp 2"aal is really 1.5" of lift, the same as everybody else makes, except for a couple of 4" aals out there. There is a 2.5" aal made by superlift, but I just called them the other day (the superlift onlne store) and they said they couldn't even have one ready for shipment for several weeks. I have been dealing with the same thing, I am 1.25" low in the rear (procomp 6 in lift) which I am not a fan of, I decided to order the 1.5"aal. I really wanted to to have some foreward rake, but with the aals available, it just wasn't going to work unless I got some shims, which I am trying to stay away from (but I might give in). Good luck and lift with springs if feasible.

Robert,

Do you have any pictures of your truck?

I'll be installing a ProComp 6" w/ 5" Fabtech block and ProComp AAL this weekend. In fact, as I type my truck is sitting in the driveway on 4 jack stands with the enitre stock suspension removed ready to start puttin on the lift brackets tomorrow morning. I tore everything apart when I got home from work today. I'll post some pictures of how the truck looks sometime next week... my wife is away for work and she has the digital camera.

Too bad I'll be running on stock tires/wheels for about a week with the lift. Can't decide what tires or really size I want yet.

okay thanks for the help, do I really need to worry about the springs not drooping enough? Josiah said none and I am assuming he meant that I had no worries or drawbacks to doing this.

Regardless you'll be able to drive the truck after you install the 5" block.

Just install the 5" block. Once everything is put back together, jack up the rear of the truck from the frame so the rear axle drops as far as it possibly can. With it dropped, unbolt one of the lower shock bolts. If the rear axle drops more when you remove the shock bolt then your shocks are limiting the suspension travel and you're not getting full potential of the rear suspension.

Baja--no pics yet, too self concious of sag and dent(damn, its only the size of a nickle, but its the only thing I see when I look at the truck! ) New aal and new kumho kl71s don't get here till next week some time, that'll help me feel a little better about my baby! Starting a big job on Mon. so don't know when I'll have a chance to get it together, but when I do, I'll give her a good bubble bath and doll her up for some glamor shots.

I welded a self machined 1" aluminum block to the 3" PC one, for a total of 2" +4"=6", then had my suspension shop fabricate a 2" AAL.
The ENORMOUS truck sits nice now

You can buy the Blocks from 4 wheels parts or anyone who sells Fabtech, just give them the Part number from the Fabtech lift kit: p/n FTBK52
You can view it here: Fabtech Instructions

If you plan on stacking Blocks, you may want to ask 4 wheel parts or whoever you decide to order your blocks from to see about some u-bolts. I had mine custom made at a local shop that does work on Commercial Trucks... paid about $20 for the pair.

Good Luck.

Not planning on stacking blocks at all. I have 4x2 so I didnt have any factory blocks. So I am planning on taking out the 3inch procomp block and putting in the 5inch fabtech block. So the Ubolts they send should be right,,, right?
