Just ordered a S&B intake

Just finished ordering a S&B intake for my 2005 4.6L. I like the looks of it and that it is a closed system. For those that have this kit, I got a few questions about it.
1) How do you like it and have you had any prolems out of it?
2) Did you have any problems installing it?
3) What kind of gains have you noticed?

Thanks for the help.

Andrew

I like the way it sounds at WOT.
No problems installing. Not on S&B's part.
No gains noticed except maybe throttle response but I was looking for something.

I think im back to getting the S&B. I wanted a dry filter but an enclosure is more important to me. Im on the list for the Outlaw but there is something I dont like about it.

1. I love it. No problems.
2. No problems installing.
3. I noticed a gain in the mid range and better throttle response as well.

Congratulations on your purchase.

You'll be [very] pleased all round.

I did a detailed review a few months back on my S&B install/performance, so do a search under my username when you get a sec.... if you like.

Also do you have to unscrew the 6 bolts to get to the air cleaner itself?

You do have to unscrew the 6 bolts to remove the air cleaner. It assures minimal leakby from the top.

Here is a defined pic of the intake portion that pulls in the air (outlined in red):
It sticks into the space behind the headlight of the front support plate.

How did you get it so cheap. It lists on the site for $269. Is yours for a 4.6 or a 5.4L?

I wanted to add that the intake also draws cold air from the fender as well from behind the headlight.
