Unhappy FX2 cluster Swap

I just swap the cluster from 07FX2 to my 04XLT i have it programmed and the truck is running good, but after driving for awhile i notice a clicking sound coming from the fuse box, as the clicking sound goes on and off so is the windows the radio and the fuel gauge moving, Does anyone have any idea of what may be happening?

Explain what you mean by "programmed". The mileage programmed? The asbuilt data programmed? Do all your chimes work i.e with truck not running leave key in ignition and open the door, does it chime?

I have it programmed to work in my truck,( you know passing the information from the old one to the new one) all chimes work, like i said the truck runs good, everything works but the things i explain before, i didnt know about the asbuilt data,( need to ask), I check where the clicking is coming and i think is the relay for the accesory power delay(thats what it say in the fuse box) Do you think the asbuilt data has something to do? If so, is the stealership the only one who can do the asbuilt data? and how can it be done?

Try a search for as built data or cluster swaps there's a bunch of real good info here about it. Basically, I don't think I'd trust anyone other than a Ford dealer to do this part, for liability sakes you don't want some knucklehead blowin your PCM and shrugging his shoulders. Here it is in a nutshell, the dealer will log in to Ford and fetch your data that was programmed into your PCM. They will push/upload that data to your new cluster. There's been debate on exactly what that accomplishes and doesn't accomplish. Some guys find plugging in the new cluster right out of the box that the GAUGES work correctly. But then chimes, AC, 4x4 shifting (electronic), OD, etc don't work. Some work for some, others none work. Play it safe and have the as built data uploaded. Most likely if you don't the dealer will blame the cluster for any "we don't know what that is off the top of our heads" problems.

He Memo05, scorpio333 recommended a guy to me that programs these. I have sent him an email about my cluster (2004 lariat cluster into 2006 xlt) and he states my 2006 needs a lariat cluster from an 06 or newer. Maybe your 05 isn't compatible with the 07 cluster? Just a thought. He states that there is something that changed in 2006+ clusters. Have scorpio333 send you the guys info and run it by him. Also do the fx2 clusters have the message center in them?? Thought I heard a rumor about this...

yep the fx2 has the message center just as the XLT, and you may be rigth about the 07 cluster having something change, we did try the asbuilt data and everything still the same so i have to take it off. I'll contact scorpio333 to help me out with his contact, and see what he has to say.
