New truck prices

I posted this in an existing thread on the subject in the SuperCrew forum, but there isn't as much activity there as there is here.

The dealers are just not budging at all off the X-plan price minus incentives. Is this behavior typical for this time of year? It currently comes to about $6700 off MSRP. It doesn't appear that they're very eager to get the 2007's off the lots.

I'm itching to get a new truck, but based on the deals listed in the thread on the supercrew forum, it sounds like I'm getting ripped off (others got upwards of $8k to $10k off MSRP). The truck is a lariat 4x2 w/ MSRP at $36.7k, and they're not moving off of $30k.

please

Thank you in advance.

Louisiana. Did you get yours at the end of the year or something?

Just got mine for $6,500 off sticker. I can't and won't complain about it. I got the truck I wanted for a decent price, even if John Doe thinks I got ripped off. It's all in what you want.

I have been looking around myself. I am buying on the x-plan through my work as well. A XLT w/5.4 is very scarce around here, so i decided to go for a lariat. The trucks I am on are $36,xxx also. I have talked price, but not too seriously. They started at x-plan minus invoice, but a couple of counter offers were passed over the phone. The only reason I have not been too serious is the lack of colors and it seems all the trucks they have are equipped with a $1200 chrome package. This makes no sense for me to buy, when I would strip most of the chrome off, including the wheels, grill, and step bars and mod it how i want it. I am left w/$1200 chrome door handles and side mirror caps. Also, I want a solid color and all they have are white sand and black. I plan to buy either friday or saturday, be it a ford or something else.

BTW...I went to another dealership and they werent budging off x-plan. I said "what if I didnt have x-plan?" and sales guy replies, "well we could do a little better." At that point I figured it was time to leave those assdarts in my rearview.

Anyway, if I buy friday I will post my deal here.. I am in the southest and eastest of texas...

Since you've been shopping, I believe the rebate is 4007 with using my credit union rate of 5.25% for 60 mos.

Is it correct that I can get $2007 AND 0% for 60 mos. through FMC?
That zero for 60 AND the rebate is huge if you get both. Last time I shopped, it was either/or.

I got my 2006 in Feb 2006. The dealer I use sells everything at $98 over invoice minus rebates, no dealing. I had a bunch of rebates at teh time I bought. Like Chris_H said if it is what you want and are willing to pay the price. As long as YOUR HAPPY.

Last I knew, X-Plan was over invoice I got my truck at invoice plus the $3507 in rebates. They had the $2007 rebate and you could get the 0% for 60 months or use your own finanacing, still get the $2007 plus you got an additional $1500 in rebates. I definitely think they are willing to work with you more if you don't have a plan.

edmunds.com should give you a fairly close number.

Thanks for the advice. As for the financing through FMC, unfortunately I haven't made it that far yet. I'm going to talk to a stealership today, so if I find out I'll be sure to post something tonight.

One stealership came down off of x-plan price considerably, but I'm still going to pit 2 against each other and see where that gets me. If they don't budge, I'll be satisfied with the initial offer.

Over here in Houston they are advertising 10,000 to 13,000 off all f150's.

In Louisiana dealers just don't sell the volume to offer this kind of deals. My dad still lives in LA and he got ripped off on his 04 compared to my 05. I never look into going to another state to buy a truck but its something you might need to look into. (Taxes) Tomball ford is offering 13,000 off all supercrews on lot and they have a bunch.

Good luck

Yep -- I routinely see deals down here in Texas that counterparts of mine in other parts of the country can't believe. I guess it just comes down to volume....

Thanks! I'm definitely going to look into that now... going to call today. I'm in the N.O. area, so it would take about a while to get there but we were planning on taking a trip there next month so it may work out.

What's your opinion on driving 5-6 hours to get a deal such as $10k off?
