remote wire problems?
remote wire problems?
hey guys i just installed some new amps into my 2004 f150 and have been having some trouble with the remote wire. i tried two different wires from the back of the stock hu, i think it was green/yellow and drk green/purple. both wires worked, but would randomly cut off. second i turned off my truck and turned it back on they worked fine... any idea whats wrong or anyother place that would work well to tap in for remote wire to my amps? thanks!
the green/yellow wire should be the thinner gauge one....thats the accessory wire. ive tapped into that wire in many f150s and other fords for amp turn on leads at work. dont use the t tap...sometimes they dont pierce the wire all the way. strip the insulation back and solder the wire on. if you still have problems then you may have an amp problem.
