Cluster programming

Anyone know where I can send my lariat cluster to be programmed? I purchased it from ebay and I have the original vin# with it. I also have the message center buttons and the wiring pigtail. I have tried a couple of local dealers with no luck. Send a reply my way with any info or possibly a place near western massachusetts that does it, thanks...

Do most dealers ask of proof of mileage? I keep hearing some people who just tell the dealer their mileage and they program it, real safe.

You might try the following.

I ran across this place while doing a search a while ago.
Hope this helps.

What do you need it programmed? Do you need it programmed so it works in your truck or do you need the odometer changed?

The dealerships can not change the odometer reading. When a dealership needs to have an odometer reading programed because the cluster is broken, they send it out to Ford. Ford has the ability to pull the odometer reading from the memory even from a broken gauge cluster and they return an identical cluster with the same reading from the one that was sent to them.

If you just need to have the cluster programmed so the A/C and other features work on your truck when it's installed then the dealership needs to get your "as built" data from your truck and upload it to the new cluster. The old vin # from the vehicle that cluster was removed from is worthless. If the dealership is telling you they can't do it it's just because they don't want to or don't know how. I can get you your "as built" data if you want, but you'll still have to have the dealership upload it for you. This will not change the odometer mileage.

On that note... even though it won't help you. I wonder what the dealership would do if your gauge cluster was stolen.

Sell you a new truck cause, "ya dun busted the other one".

I thought the same thing the way some of them reacted when I was looking for a dealer to do this. Later came to find out they order them in with the mielage preset and then they upload the as built and install. But that would be XLT to XLT or FX to FX, etc. We should quit throwing them the XLT to FX, FX to Lariat curve *****

They should give you the option to just send in your XLT cluster and they send you back a Lariat cluster. This way they could give you a little discount for turning in your original cluster and everyone would come out happy. But I'm sure that's too easy and they'd still try to charge some astronomical amount of money for the new cluster.

BTW... what the hell is that "thing" on the right side of your sig?

I'm sorry to get involve in your chat, but i read that you can get the as built data? I swap the cluster from the FX2 to my XLT and some accesories dont work properly, scorpio333 say that maybe the asbuilt data was not upload, i really appreciate if you can get the asbuilt data for me, just tell me what you need...Thanks!
