Column Shift locking

Lately I have had to pump my brake pedal a few times then hold it down before the column shifter will unlock and allow me to put it in gear. Seems as time goes on it's taking more "pumps" as well.
Does anyone else's truck do that?

Sounds like your brake switch is crapping out (common Ferd problem)

Might wanna check the condition of the plug....

Check you owner's manual for shifter interlock. It will show you how get the truck into gear if the multiple stabs at the pedal do not work. Mine has the flow through console, but the same problem. For the console you need to pry the top of the console off with a screwdriver to get to the release button. Make sure you have what is needed in case you cannot get it to release.
