reichard racing to make 4.6 3v intake to 5.4 3v block adapters.

reichard racing is going to sell cnc machined adapter plates for our motors to use a 4.6 3v intake. the first objection is going to be torque.

well fellas if you get more air in it offsets some low end losses. the 4.6 intake outflows 3v heads, so no losses going to 5.4 3v. the only question for you boys is the twin 57mm TB will plug in, but i have no idea how well it will work with stock injection. the 4.6 intake pulls to 7200 on a 4.6 3v.

just info. i am surely going to get those plates.

this is very intereesting. I'd like to see how everything pans out. the only thing i could think of is it may be cheaper to run a crate, or re-built OEM 5.4 in there and then have the ability to upgrade to a s/c. i know its a considerable amount more, but if you're going through the trouble to tear half the motor apart, why not go for the gusto?

keep us updated, i'd like to see price and gains.

The way I understand it is the 5.4 has a wider deck that the 4.6.

using adapter plates, we can take advantage of the aftermarket intake manifolds out there on our 5.4 blocks.

Intake manifold is very easy to remove. About 1/10 of entire engine removal.

the 5.4 has a ~1" wider intake pattern. the plates will add 1" to the runners of the 4.6 3v intake, offsetting some low end loss.

I'd love to come down and check out some nice mustangs. Maybe I can convince my buddy to bring his KB mustang outta the garage and actually drive it.

We'll meet up sometime. You can have it (5.4 intake). It's too big and bulky to try to sell and then mail out to someone.

I'd love to see your car once it gets up and running. Maybe I can talk to some of the guys in your car club on the best place to get a good, solid dyno tune.

Email me any time.

Smyrna is about 2 hrs away.

Is that the "best" place around? Do you have any experience with tuning there?

the plates are not on their website. call them.

smyrna cannot tune you. it is only a dyno. but you can get your tune very close with a few dyno pulls. for example we have a stage 3 roush 06. he made 450 rwhp the first pull, but it had to be shut off. it was lean enough to blow up. so the owner fixed it flashing.

the only way to get it all correct is custom tuning from a good tuner. RWTD in lousiana or Tim at MPH in georgia. i'm going to tim immediately after adding crane MAX cams.

DELK will only blow you up with BS forces withing the program that don't work.

hi. I’m Mike. Where can I purchase these adapter plates to have my 4.6 intake fit on a 5.4 block? Thank you.
