evap, help

I currently have a post on here about check engine light!! I had it checked and turned off, ( supposedly I had left my gas cap loose ) long story short the light is back on so I climb underneath the truck and the carbon/charcoal box is black with soot, I mean the whole bottom of my truck is black and my local shop told me that this may be covered past the warranty period since it's an emissions problem. So does any one know if something like this is covered? And does anyone have a clue as to what might have caused this?

Different states have different emission warranties. Call your dealership, they would be the only ones to really awnser that for you.
