Hey. Good luck at the Fire Academy. Basic Firefighter Training is fun. PAY ATTENTION! And make sure that you actually study. So many people fail the classes, because they think that they dont have to study. Yes alot of it is easy, but the questions on the tests are tricky....SO STUDY! Learn everything that you can......it will save your life! And last but not least, STAY SAFE. Good luck man. Be careful, pay attention, and have fun. Stay safe out there!

Take care of your back and dont volunteer for anything. And while you are at the firehouse, remember that you know nothing! And dont get caught sitting down.

Been an EMT-I for 13 years, and a FF for 7 I love it. Keep yourself in shape, no question is a stupid question, it could be your life. Work and study hard but have fun doing it. The most rewarding jobs one can do besides military and PD.

It would be an exciting career, but it's not my dream and I wouldn't chase it as there are many others who deserve it more. Good luck and if its your dream you'll stick with it. I am sure the hollywood's in the group will weed themselves out. I think it's them who make the job so tough to get paid on? Maybe not, but someone should really enlighten me as to why it's a difficult job to get hired on. I have heard of many failed firefighters/paramedics.

I know some real young EMT's my age I've been in school with for a long time, drive ambulances, the whole nine. Makes me feel pretty uncollected lol. Albet too it's a rewarding career, be safe we're well educated on tragedy, don't give us anymore lessons.
