Best repair manual for our trucks?

Is there a "bible" of sorts when it comes to repair manuals for our trucks? Excluding this site of course!!!! Bentley manuals are the heat for BMW's for example.

there are Haynes and Chilton but i've always used them as secondary sources on my BMW's.

Thanks..

You can go to a dealer and get their repair manuals. I think they cost like $90 or so. I've been meaning to look into that myself if I ever get around to it.

You can order the factory manual from your dealership parts department or order them direct from Helms. You'll probably spend upwards of $200 if you get all the manuals - there's two volumes of service manuals, an EVTM (wiring diagrams) and a PC/ED manual (driveability/engine performance).

I got the 2 volume Ford Service manuals off eBay for about $70 shipped. A wealth of information.

There's one drawback about using the paper manuals that y'all should be aware of - sometimes, they aren't always right (gasp!). Ford never sends out revisions or updates for the paper manuals, when an error in a manual is found it's corrected in the online manuals on the company's website.

I feel bad for the guys who had '97-'00 Exploders and Mountaineers with 4.0L SOHC engines and tried timing them with anything other than the 2001 manual.
