Efans-Pusher or Puller?

I would have to hunt too hard to find out.

Are Efan kits pusher, or puller.

And yes, I am frankenstein-ing a kit, based on all the recommendations-and damnations of forum members.

I'm liking SPAL, and I'm thinking about hardwiring the controller(S) to the inside of the firewall.

All connections soldered, and properly sized wire.

Anybody see a problem with extending controller wires in a harness, to get up front to the radiator?

Pullers.

SPAL fans move an enormous amount of air and are quite loud for doing so. I have 2 16" fans "sitting around" waiting for someone to buy them with low hours.

And whatever you do, do NOT get the SPAL PWM. I went through two of them in a week before i sold my old F150; putting the fan clutch back on.

Have you determined the cause of the SPAL Controller failure?

I dont like heat, and think the engine compartment is a bad place for controllers.

Ok,

I solved the pusher/puller problem with Maradyne Fans, which have reversible fan blades.

While there, I found some simple temp sensors and relays.

I was wondering-the biggest problem for the controller crowd is that they have variable-speed controllers.

Although a cool feature-is this too delicate a feature to have for under hood?

I'm thinking that just ON/OFF relays with preset temperature thresholds might be the simplest, most dependable set-up.

And while measuring stuff out yesterday, I was wondering why I am not putting fans on the condenser coil too. NOTE: I'm in Phoenix, and sitting in traffic gives me an ambient temp of 130 easily.

Thoughts?

On/Off will be fine, definitely no need for variable speed.

i home made my kit too. i went with derales kit
http://www.derale.com/single-stage-controller.html

with a push through sensor that goes into my radiator. i hid everything really well and haven't had a moments problem with it since i rewired everything.

i have dual fans pulling on my truck.

total spent on everything was about $75
