It said it doesn't come with shocks but I sure 4 new bilsteins can cure that. Does it come with everything else like: shims, nuts, bolts, and ect.

Did you have the front end re-aligned with the drop? I know you have 24's and I only have 20's but I don't want any excesive tire wear. Should I be concerned for my tires or were your problems from way over-sized wheels? When my stupid directional Toyo's wear out I going to get some A/T's (BFG or Nitto), and I will stay somewhere around 31".

you won't need shims with new leafs, it would be a good idea to go ahead and get the beilstiens and have those put on at the same time you do the drop since everything right there and apart anyway. I'd also recommend the pirelli scorpion zero assemetrico tires if your in the market for some nice rubber. I have my truck dropped 2/4 on an almost 32 inch tire and only rub when I hit this dip on the way to work at like double the speed limit.

2" drop in the front won't need an alignment, but anything more you probably should.

(and the Eibach 2/3 drop from performancepeddler.com is $383 and the 2/4 drop is $457)

Do new leafs set the pinion at the correct angle? I figured since you are bringing the frame closer to the axle then you will need the shims to correct the angle. My tires are 31.9". Do your front or back tires rub?

Won't the tires be riding on the inside even with the 2" drop? Summit has always treated me well and sent some extra goodies when I made large purchases. Ill spend the extra $40 at Summit, and Ill probably get another Summit jacket or shirt to go along with my collection.

Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. Groundforce or Eibach if you want a quality product. I ran a 2/5 drop with 32.8 tires and I had no rub issues.

new leafs should have the correct angle, shackles need shims because they raise the rear of the leaf changing the pinion angle, new leafs don't do that. the pinion angle should stay about the same no mater where the axle is in its travel. I would recommend getting an alignment after any suspension work. I need to have mine done. my tires are 31.7 and only one rubs on that odd dip in the road. its a realy harsh angle change and it'll only do it if I'm hitting it at 50 (speed limit is 35) I've never had any other rubbing other than that even offroad and pushing the truck real hard in the corners. I want to say its the front tire rubbing but It actually might be the back. I don't really worry bout it since it rarely happens. my 3 inch rear leafs sagged another inch after driving around last winter with a bed full of snow so I'm about 2/3.5, I wanted to go lower but the truck rides and handles way better and drivability hasn't changed. any lower and I would have to think about how I approach driveways. 2/4s the way to go with a daily driver, 2/3 if you tow.

Whats wrong with the 2/4 Mcgaughy kit? The only thing is it doesn't have shocks. It comes with whole new leafs instead of an entire flip. Costs a lot less. My truck would sit perfectly level with a 2/4. My truck's rear sits only 1 7/8" higher than the front. A 2/5 would probably sit a little to low with my truck, and I still haul my sport quad. If there is something wrong with the 2/4 Mcgaughy kit that I don't know about, please do inform .

I have heard the Mcgaughy springs are not that strong. I think there was a member on here that broke one of the springs due to axel wrap. Again you get what you pay for. I have the 9944 Ground force kit which is a 2/4 drop and I am fixing to buy one for my wifes truck. I tow a 6000lb boat and the rear only drops a half inch while towing. I run a 305/40/22 and I only get a little rub when I am at fully turn backing up other than that I have no rubbing issues.

Well I can't have broken leafs . I already have axle wrap and wheel hop. I don't want to spend $1100 on the 9944 and the 9949 at $895 is a posability. Are the ground force leafs a lot stiffer than stock? There is always the ground force 2/5 drop too.

Stock the truck rode and handled like a marshmello, front end was way to bouncy. After the Ground force kit the truck felt like a mustang GT in terms of stiffness and handling characteristics. I have since added a hellwig rear sway bar and custom traction bars which have made the ride a little more harsher like if you were in a corvette. It handles like it is on rails when I go into a sharp corner. I have taken quite a few corvettes, mustangs and a few imports by surprise that I can hang with them in a sharp turn or s curves. I am now looking for a beefier front sway bar. Also one other thing that will affect your ride quality is what size tire you get, 40 series is rougher than a 60 series tire due to less side wall flex. To me it is a major improvment from stock but then again here I am trying to make my truck handle like a sports car.

I would say they may be just a little stiffer or the same as stock springs. I was never found of axel flips unless you actually weld a new spring purch to the bottom of the axel, just never trusted the clamp in type.

Ive never heard of anything going wrong with them. I want a nice kit but Im not paying a lot for it. Im looking for a nice ride, and a good stance. I won't be road racing with vettes and stangs either. I have a quad to race around on.
