my gas gauge is stuck

this weekend everything was going great, until I decide to go fill up for the week on sunday,After I filled up my gauge read only a lil over 1/4 of gas, and I had a lil under a 1/4 when I pulled in to the gas station. so this morning on work it read a lil over half a tank whats up whit that!

My truck did that too. Something to do with corrosion on the sensor. He said to put a couple tankfulls of Chevron w/Techron in and I havent had a problem since then. Sounds like a pretty common problem though.

happened to me but my meter slowly raised as i drove and then plummeted to empty when i was done

hasn't happened since

I only pump chevron w/Techron,I will have 2 take it in to the stealership have it checked out.BTW my 3 yr warranty expiers 07-11-07

I have had the same problem with mine. I disconnected the battery for like 20 mins and it took care of the problem.

Did you have the key in any "On" positions while pumping gas. That will cause it also.

I had the key out of the ignition.

I noticed that this problem only happend to FX4 owners @ least the ones who replied to my post, makes me wonder if its a problem that is more likely to occur to FX4 trucks.

Nope...happened to my XLT and my wifes 2004 Explorer, took about 2 days and both guages slowly fixed themselves. Have not had problem since.

I had the same thing happen to me... I just unhooked the bat like voodoochild and mine went to full and I havent had a problem since..... I am preety sure that this is a common problem in some of the newer model ford vehicles. My fiance's fusion, my mom's explorer, and my dad's F150 all have done the same thing....
