MP3 Mount Idea

I am getting ready to mount my MP3 in my truck. It is a Creative Zen Touch 20GB. I just ordered all the equipment and I am gathering ideas on where and how to mount. I have searched this forum for the past 2 1/2 hours, literally. I haven't seen a mount like this but here is my idea:

I installed the XLT console in place of my bench seat. On the front side of the console there is a cubby hole. I would like to somehow place about a 12-14" piece of flexible hose that is attached to the solid area just below the cubb hole. I would then like to find a holder that I like to attach to the flexible hose. This would put it about the height of the cup holders. The flex would allow the driver or pass. to change the songs.
I would run the wires down the flex piece under carpet and up to my P.I.E. adapter. I would also install a 12V outlet possible inside that cubby hole or on the pass. side of the console for charging.

Does anybody have any pics, ideas, suggestions, or thoughts about this setup or something similar.

I am open to anything and everything!

What about just a simple bracket to hold it in the same spot that would mount under the cup holders?
