MA (Modders Anonymous)

Hi my name is Bob and I'm a modder. Today I fell off the wagon. You see it had been 44 days since my last mod and I was doing so good. Then today I got off work a little early and instead of staying in my room, where I knew I wouldn't be tempted, I went wondering. I ended up in an exhaust shop and couldn't resist, I added a new exhaust. I just can't help myself, ever since that mod bug bit me (seems about the same time I joined this site) I have been modding my truck. It all started with a simple tonneau cover, then came the bull bar and before you know it I was adding a lift, an intake, custom tunes and new wheels/tires and now the exhaust.

I have been home for a couple hours and have already been searching for my next mod (seat covers). Is there any help for us modders or are are we destined to continue modding until we can mod no more?

Hi Bob.

I'm Dave, and it's been 21 days since my last mod. (Off Road Lights). It's been tough, but money has been tight. Today I was desperate enough to mod I started digging through leftover parts in the garage, and found an old CB Radio. I almost modded, but stopped myself when the temptation to take drill to metal in order to mount the 102" whip came up. I am trying to satiate the mod bug for the time being using a lighter plug powered radio and a mag mount antenna, But I know my SWRs are not where I want them, and I will want my TX and RX to be up to snuff before hunting season (we still use CBs to talk from truck to truck while travelling to / from the deer lease, and while on the trail...). I'm afraid the next time I am temped to add the CB, I won't be able to stop myself.

Bob-you don't have a problem until you're in a twelve step program. You don't have a problem til your family has an intervention with you- and then you don't really have a problem until you decide you need help. Maybe I need help from posting in the middle of the night......***shrugs***

mod on Bob. Mod on.

Haha sorry but the first "Hi Bob" brought back memories from fight club.

It's ok man, I know we are all addicted and my list of things I want to do to the truck grows every single day. It's not a fact of doing it, it's a fact of your checkbook keeping up.

The first step is admittance, Welcome home Bob!

Talked to my wife last night and told her I was going to be ordering the Wet Okole car seats and she said "ok after that your truck is all done......right?" I said yeah, but all I could think about was how to convince her to let me get a set of pocket flares next.

Curse you mod bug, curse you!

Try going back to University. That squished my bug and my foot will have to stay on top of it for the next two years, as bad as the stock stereo sounds.

Some of the best mods are done when you are short or without extra mod money.
