Endless 3rd Brake Light Leak
Endless 3rd Brake Light Leak
Hey Guys,
Well I'm about to give up.
I have an endless 3rd brake light water leak. I did the bubbles in water idea to identify where it was coming from. Then I put on a new foam gasket on the 3rd brake light and then put silicone selant around the edges of the 3rd brake light and then in the screw holes because they had some air blowing out too.
Is the silicone selant not the right stuff to use? Is that why it's still leaking?
It's a major pain and I want to be done with it. I appreciate any help or advice you guys have.
If it means having to pull the brake light again, I'll also need advice on how to get the silicone out of the screw holes that I already put in there.
Thanks,
Duke

Dunno about the silicone, after redoing the bathtub 8 bazillion times I like to avoid it. I used some storm door sealer from Home Depot when I switched mine out. Peeled the sticky side off and stuck it to the truck then tightened it down real good. Swapped the light again and never a drop.
