Alignment Question
Alignment Question
How often should you have your aligment checked and/or corrected? Is it something you should have checked periodically or should you just wait until you think there is a problem? It has been a year since I have had my truck aligned and I was just wondering if it was something I needed to do. Also my truck is on stock suspension with no leveling kit. Thanks in advance!
A vehicle can be out of alignment and not pull to either side. And until you get excessive or unusual tire wear you would never know it.
I do between 15and 20K a year and get an alignment annually. It always has to be adjusted at least a little. Bumps, pot holes, wear on suspension parts, and everything else wil cause some change.
For me the $49.95 I pay is worth it.

Most places will do an alignment check for free, then you just have to pay if you want the alignment done. How often you need it checked depends on how you drive your truck. I spend a lot of time off road and my tires are $1300 a set so I try to get it checked twice a year (usually no adjustments are needed). A "normal" driver should have it check every 12K miles or 12 months. A truck just sitting is a driveway not moving still gets out of alignment just from suspension sag as springs wear out.
