Driver window/passenger window sometimes works**PROBLEM SOLVED**

**READ MY FOLOW UP POSTING**

For about three months now the drivers window and the passenger front window will intermittently stop-not roll up or down. It can be from the first time I start the truck to having been run all day. It will always work if I release the switch and try immediately again, sometimes multiple times (same issue occurs at both the front drivers door and passengers door switches).
No problem with the back two doors.
Some days it will work just fine. This happens in either roll up or down status.
Any thoughts before it goes back. Its still under warranty for a while with 42,000 on the speedo.
BTW: They replaced the whole motor/regulator mechanism about 6 months ago on the drivers side because the drive cable started to fray.

Its probably the switch. I had the same problem on two windows also, and the new switch solved the issue. If that doesn't do it, than the regulators are going bad and you'll need to replace the motors. They don't sell the regulator seperate

its more than likely the door switches. I just had mine replaced. If you search it seems like it is a common problem, the contacts getting dirty.

I have the exact same problem but with driver's side only. I can click the button and nothing happens, but if I click it again immediately then it works. I didn't see what year your truck was, I have an 05 supercrew with about 25000 miles. Please let me know if you find anything out and I will do the same.

oh man i know exactly what you're talking about. i have an 05 screw with just over 36000 miles, and only my drivers side acts up. it goes back up as soon as i "double" click the button. think im going to take it in and let them work on it.

I appreciate the repiles. Its an 05 scab. I guess I could replace the front drivers side double switch and see what happens. Any ideas on how much this puppy runs?
I wonder if this would also cause it to not work when the passenger tries it on their side?

**hopefully Solved The Issue**

Well I bought and replaced both the driver and passenger switches. They work better than they have in a long time. I will see how the work tomorrow for the "test" but it appears to have been the issue.
Both of them ran me about 120.00 w/tax.

BTW: The driver side comes complete with all five (2005 model, I cant speak for other years) switches.

There was a post not too long ago saying to take apart the switch and clean the contacts with some sandpaper and then hit them with electrical parts cleaner to fix this. This would sure beat spending $120.

As that is not a bad idae to do, the 120.00 is just as well to go ahead and spend.
If I take them apart and this fixes them for awhile then it happens again, or doesnt work, or I break them in the process then I have wasted too much time. This way at 120.00 and no more than 5 minutes I am finished and they are new.

(I am trying to justify my spending another 120.00 on damn parts for this truck )
