Yeah. I see a lot of sigs with stuff listed that I would never list as a mod. Sure its different from factory, but its not big anything major enough to be listed in a sig IMO. I mean things like tint, as you said, bug sheilds, window visors, floormats, 'adjusted TPS voltage' I see in some sigs of people with pre 04s....stuff like that.
I say just list your main stuff....REAL performance mods (intake, tune, exhaust etc, we dont need to know that you adjusted your TPS or that you pulled your silencer out or something), stereo, susp., rims/tires, major appearance mods, etc.
I hardly ever read the sigs anyway.

Anywho, back on topic. My truck stayed the way I bought it for about a week. The old man that owned it before me had put tube steps and window visors on it, and must have pulled the FX4 sticker off it.

First thing I started with was the stereo, and for now thats about all Ive done with it, unless you want to count the new floormats, fire extinguisher, yanking the steps off, and other little things as mods . Bedcover whenever I get my lazy **** down south to get one, new rims/tires when these tires get bald, and some performance stuff whenever I get around to ordering it.

Mine is mighty clsoe to stock the only mods are the addition of a PIE unit & a XM Commander and a Myron&Davis DVD For the kids,I am a Master Technician (not at a Ford Dealer)and have seen plenty of so called aftermarket performance mods and the pitfalls of them, I would not put any aftermarket performance product on my truck even if they were free! If you like them more power to ya whatever

Two sides to that I guess. There are always the people who dont know what they are doing and just buy any ol intake or something to say they have an intake and pretend they are fast.
If you actually do some research and know what you are doing...then you can have some fun with them.

I would love some free performance parts

window tint is a bona fide modification. Adding window tint decreased the ambient temperature inside the cab. The lower temp. means that the A/C doesn't have to work as hard to cool the interior. The less the A/C has to work means greater fuel mileage and more horsepower due to less draw on the engine.

So window tint=increased hp and mpg.

Is it a real mod now??

Fabian06SC being from El Campo, you know that window tint is a necessity

The real reason to list all "mods" is so that new members can look at your sig and your pics to help them with their decision with their own mods. real or imagined.

Maybe within a year or so. We ll see. No performance parts though for me. I don't like to put on my truck anything that will interfere directly with the engine of the truck. Just stuff like linex for the bed, Tonneau cover, ...

Mine's pretty close to stock, but that's only because I've only owned it for 3 days. Before I left the dealer I had to stop at the parts counter and pick up a FX4 emblem for the tailgate.

mine is 99.9% stock.
just has some thick rubber floor mats.

i want to do the following mods:
rancho triple X 9000 leveling shocks
american eagle wheels
BFG 33" all terrain tires

but !!!
the reason i am waiting is, i would have a real hard tire pulling tires off my truck that were not worn out. i guess i have that type of "use it until its worn out" personality.

when they do wear out.... i can join the guys with the mods.

later - oaw

Aside from a K&N drop in replacement filter, which I consider maintenence parts like an oil filter, dealer installed BFG ATs due to the Firestone Recall (I did talk them into upsizing to 285s though, oversize by quite a bit), and a dealer installed bug shield and trailer hitch, my '00 Ranger Trailhead was a stock as a rock.

A good friend of mine has a 2000 XLT Sport flareside with dealer installed spray in liner, nerfs, bug shield and window visors.

Oh wait, my Dad, his Suzuki XL-7 might be stock. Or my Brothers Benzes might be...

So does dealer add ons make it not count?
