my friend has the escort and it is absolutely amazing. it'll detect radar from a mile away, from behind, and it detects it over hills too. gives X, K, Ka, and LASER readings. he turned X off because its annoying around city with gas stations n stuff. LASER is scary, you might want to make your license plates non-reflective, because LASER is instant speed detection unlike Ka that most cops use, and they just flash it off your plates and your screwed.

EDIT: if you have extra cash, also consider the valentine detector. it is more expensive then the escort, but it tells you what direction the radar is coming from using red arrows which is REALLY cool, i have another buddy that has this one. check this out:

Thats what Im waiting to get. It will even tell you if its coming from the sides. Hearing a valetine warn of laser will just about scare the daylights out of you. They also offer a setup that allows you to blackout the detector on the windshied and move the warning lights to whereever you want.

I just replaced my escort 8500 x50 blue, with the new 9500. It's a hard call to say whats better. I drove around for a few days with both on the windsheild. The x50 picked up radar ever so slightly quicker, but the ability to lockout the false alarms I would normally get every single day makes me more aware when the det does go off.

ya when the LASER warning goes off on the escort it scares the crap out me, makes your heart literally hop out of your chest and you jump out of your seat, let olone hit the brakes way harder then necesary. by the time you've picked up LASER its too late anyways, only ways to avoid LASER is ti use a laser jammer (which is often illegal) or to take off your license plates (also illegal). sucks.

travis i know this is off topic, but im curious about how you operate with that kicker behind you:
a) how are you not like crushed against the steering wheel? in one of your pics it looks like your seat is really far forward.
b) how are your ears still working with 5,000 watts literally 6 inches from them?

Travis the tint looks good. Just wondering if you have any difficulties driving at night.

and as for thewoofer behind my seat i have a box of ear plugs i dont wear them but other people do. my ears havent gone out yet. im young and im only 5' 5 thts how i can fit lol
