Just got a Roush Tejon F-150 need advise

Hey guys, I am now the proud owner of a 04 Roush Tejon F-150 (non charger version) and am also new to the forum.

So im just curious, what should I do perfomace wise? I already plan on adding a Volant intake system and not sure what else. So my question is, what else do you guys think I should get to help out the hp/tq area, i.e. headers, TBS, gears, etc...

Im actaully also consider procharging it in the near future but it wont be any time soon.

Thanks in advance and any input will be greatly apperciated.

Well, odds are in the long haul you will want a supercharger.

For now, just throw on an exhaust, intake, and a custom tune. All in all it should run between $1,100 and $1,400 or so to do. That should suffice for the duration that you need to save up for the blower. then do it right...

Werd. A supercharger is defi in the near future. Now, I just need to find something that will hold me off for a while or untill I get a supercharger.

I dunno know though. I really like root chargers but I also love the way centrifugal chargers sound at idle and plus ATI procharger is litterally about 5min from my house.

Yeah, thats what I was kinda thinking. It already has the roush cat-back. So ill probablly throw on an intake and some headers. I was thinking pacesetter or do you guys have another brand thats better in mind?

I also gont some 3 inch blocks coming for the back to level out the truck a lil better cuz I hate the way it sits right now.

Very soon, my friend. Its a lil too dirty to take pics of since it just rained. Should be up in a couple of days or until I clean it up.

Plus I just orderd some 3 inch lowering blocks to drop the back a lil. So I might wait till after I install em.

Well, if your rear suspension is like mine, then the "lowering blocks" will actually raise the rear, not lower it

Clean her up and then take some before/after pics, I'd like to see the difference between stock, and leveling her out in the rear, instead of adding the 2.5as's and lifting the front!!

As for the Mod's.... I'd go with the AF1, and some 4.10's....then look at some tuner's!

Good Luck!

Hmmm, now that has me thinking. I looked closely and I already have blocks on my truck. So should I just take those off and that will lower em?

How much do you want to spend? It really depends on how soon you're going to be getting a supercharger otherwise a lot of basic mods will be a waste. If its going to be a while, I'd go with a custom dyno tuned Xcal2 and a S&B intake or AF1 to start with. Honestly, headers don't help as much as they will cost you. Gears, E-Fans, HiFlow Cats would be a good place to start. Weasel actually noticed a decrease in his 0-60 times after the installation of headers.

If your leaf springs are on the top of the axle, then blocks raise the truck and vise versa

I agree. Stick with a supercharger. Go the Roushcharger route to be consistent with the Tejon package. You can pick these up for around $3800 on eBay if you're patient.

By the time you go through all the other upgrades, you still have a 5300 beast with marginal HP.

I havent seen a procharger put down good solid power yet like the vortech units have. I Personally would go for a whipple after having the centri on my truck.
