Avic D3 help!!!
Ok so Im trying to hook up the power cord. I dont need to hook up the blue antenna terminal right? And where do the pink and purple wires go?
For the bypass I put the yellow mute wire in an empty slot and grounded the parking brake. Is that it? I heard you have to ground the mute wire and I have also heard you dont have to. What is right?
I also have the audiophile system. Is there something else I need to hook up to get this thing working?
And is the other cord just for an amp? Do I use that for my audiophile system?

For the bypass you need to ground the mute wire and the parking brake wire. just splice the mute wire into parking brake wire. and run the parking brake wire to a good ground (both wires are now grounded)
the pink wire(seperate from the harness) goes to the gray/black wire in the factory ford harness. just splice into it, and you will notice the other end has a connector that will plug into pink wire on the avic harness.
the purple wire is for a reverse camera. if you don't have a camera no need to hook it up. unless you plan on getting one later.
i don't have audiophile so i can't help you there...i do know that in order to get the sub to work, you will need to use the blue remote wire. Greg who started a d3 thread has everything working perfect with audiophile. see if you can get a hold of him.

the pink wire goes to the factory ford harness, gonna have to unwrap all the wires and splice into the gray/black wire. i will run outside and take a look real quick for the purple wire, but i am almost positive that wire is for a reverse camera.
the purple/white wire is for a reverse camera...and the pink wire goes to the gray/black wire on the factory ford harness. the gray/black wire on the ford harness is the vss speed sensor wire, and that is exactly what the pink wire is too.

just got this thing installed and working and it is ****ing sick!!! I have the audiophile and I got everything to work. Including the ipod. The only thing that isnt working is the videos on the ipod. When I go to the ipod screen and i am playing music there is a video button at the top right corner and when I click it it goes to a blank screen and says to use the ipod instead or something. So I use the ipod to click on a video and it plays on my ipod but not on the hu. Does anyone know how to fix that? Other than that this thing rocks. My audiophile system sounds like I have 2 10s instead of like an 8? 110% better sound and bass! holy ****!!if anyone has any questions on installing I can probably help. It took me all morning to get this thing installed.
