Angry Harley Davidson (HD) headlights have changed!

heh.

Only in part number.

Apparently, my order at getfordparts.com was put on hold, because the old part number I found online here has changed per model year 2007+. The old number is not available for order from Ford directly anymore, according to the guys there at getfordparts.com. (Tasca Automotive) They won't even take orders on the old part number anymore, so don't bother with them.

The kicker? The new part number is tagged at a $300+ price PER side.

Compared to the old part which could be had for under $150 for each side if you shopped around.

So, if you were on the fence, get them now from your local dealer before the old part number stock dries up; because after they're gone, only the very pricey new part number will be available.

FYI, the old (2006) part numbers that are now superceded are (were) -

6L3Z-13008-AAA
6L3Z-13008-BAA

I'm going to start calling around asap to see if anyone else has a pair of the old part numbers in stock....

E.

What city and state are you in or near?

I see some dealers that have them in stock, but also I checked order status for those and they don't show being superseded to new numbers. So I don't know what their issue would be.

That's wierd. Maybe the Tasca guys were blowing smoke up my butt? Can't see why though. They are doing some great CS relations legwork, and trying to buy a set from some other dealer that still has a set on the shelf, so they can sell me the set at the price I was quoted. If that all falls through though, it'll probably be 'sorry, you're out of luck'.

At which point, I'll be looking hardcore for a set at a lower price.

Mach, I'm in Northeast PA

Balog; I can't tell, but are you sure they actually HAVE the part on hand? A bunch of the ford parts sites all list the part as available, will let you order it, but they still go to place an order with national parts from Ford to actually get it. (promising a 4-5 day ship/delivery time window) I'd have to call I guess; but that will have to wait until Monday.

yea, these guys have everything they are showing in stock on their actual shelves (or at least did on everything i've ordered thru them- tailgate trim cap, driver's side wheel well liner, rear FX4 emblem, harley heads--come to think of it, everything I've ordered from them was actually shipped on the same day, or If i ordered late, it went out on the first truck the next day)

Part numbers 6L3Z-13008-AA AND 6L3Z-13008-AB also show as Harley headlamps. Those and the prev mentioned ones are all the same list price at $180.37. The inventory is scattered throughout Fords distribution network but appear to be available for dealer orders. I don't see any any different price other than that.

Elmo.. I did not see any stocking dealers in your area, one in Norfolk, VA, and one in Brandford, CT. Not even close, I think.

AWESOME!!

See, I told you guys they had great CS relations!

I guess I just got a little worried when Andy said IF they couldn't get them from another dealer/warehouse I'd be out of luck normally. I guess the $300 something he mentioned was list price; but even still Ford raising the price $80 on you guys stinks.

Anyhow, next time I need parts, Tasca ford is DEFINITELY getting my order!

(probably be the HD grill in a month or two )

I remember when I ordered my Harley "Flight" grille back in Jan. '06 less than two weeks later the price quadrupled. They (FORD) were just trying to protect a premium model from devaluation then and now.

Just a quick FYI update:

Tasca Ford is AWESOME!

They located the old part number units, and have shipped me the set.

$260 SHIPPED baby! WOOOT!

They've definitely earned a customer for life. I STRONGLY urge everyone to consider www.getfordparts.com as their first source for OEM parts. They beat all other online vendors on price for these old part number units by a SIZEABLE amount. ($119 each + $21 shipping) I imagine all of their parts pricing will be just as competitive!

I will post when the UPS truck arrives with them...

The part numbers listed above are for the 2006 year model HD.

Once again, these are:

6L3Z-13008-BAA
6L3Z-13008-AAA

The problem is supply stock of those may be dwindling. Ford has replaced them for 2007 with more expensive cost per unit part numbers:

7L3Z-13008-HA
7L3Z-13008-FA

(I'm unsure of these part numbers; TRIPLE CHECK BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER. I found them using google, so don't trust them until you've verified them yourself.)

The new 2007 parts cost considerably more, according to the great guys at Tasca Ford. (sounds like at least $200+ per side)

The availability of 2007 FX2/FX4 headlights is a little better, if you are ok with the medium platinum surround instead of the black; but these are 2007, so pretty expensive just the same.

7L3Z-13008-DA
7L3Z-13008-CA

(I'm also unsure of these part numbers; I copied them from someone else's post here no the forum after doing a search)

Hope this helps.

E.

those were probably the fx2 headlights. the fx2 and harley lights are very similar, but i am guessing you saw fx2 lights.
